Game #5. Traktor 2:3 Admiral.
After the victory against Metallurg coaching staff didn’t make any changes to the lineup. Only Pavel Francouz substituted Vasily Demchenko between the pipes.
First period was played on low speeds. Traktor couldn’t gain momentum. Chelyabinsk made a lot of mistakes and too many times resorted to individual actions. On the seventh minute Yuri Petrov gat two minute penalty for the high-sticking. Admiral immediately scored – Pavel Francouse didn’t see the moment of the shot, and Victor Alexandrov directed the puck into the top corner.
In the second period Admiral continued to play the same way. Team from Vladivostok scored once again in almost identical way. Robert Sabolic made a shot from the right face-off circle. The picture remained the same until the middle of the game when Dmitry Sayustov fouled on Marsel Sholokhov. He was given “2+2”. This was the breaking point in the game – Traktor scored on the power play and added one more in the even strength.
Traktor could gain the lead as it was playing in power play. Gatiyatulin’s team had several chances to score but didn’t made the plays. But Alexander Sharov lost the puck on Traktor’s blueline, Admiral quickly delivered the puck to the net and shoot it past Pavel Francouz – 2:3. Traktor couldn’t save the game.
