Traktor started preseason tournament in Astana with the loss.

Traktor’s lineup against Neftekhimik was close to optimal, but with some experimental adjustments.

It was an interesting game, but, frankly speaking, both teams demonstrated “summer hockey”. By the middle of the second period Traktor was down 0:2, but then woke up. Maxim Yakutsenya effectively capitalized on the great Alexander Shinin assist. After that import equalized the game with spectacular and quick combination. However Neftekhimik responded with two goals and Traktor initiated one more pursuit. It started with Nick Bailen’s goal in the top corner and ended with Paul Szczechura’s survival effort, which came after buzzling spin-o-rama assist by Kirill Koltsov. With two seconds to play in the third period the scoreboard showed 4:4. The winner was determined in overtime and it was Neftekhimik. The overtime was already reaching its end, but Dan Sexton scored the winning goal.
